Scruff’s Top 5

Happy Mother’s Day, this week I would like to talk about just that. For 22.5 hours Denise Eaddy was in labor with me, that’s something not all women get the chance to experience, but at the end of the day that’s not what makes this woman my mother. For 18 years, she kept me from starving, being homeless, and has supported me in all my endeavors the best way she knew how. Since leaving home and starting my own adventures in life, she continues to give words of wisdom, and support from 1500 miles away. I appreciate the long nights of conversation, days when I didn’t want to listen to nobody. I appreciate growing up knowing that education and staying in church was the most important things. Learning about the sacrifices made to keep a roof over my head, or buy me new school clothes, these are the things that I will never be able to repay. So shout out to all the women out there doing what they have to do, not just to make ends meet, but to also impact a child’s life whether they gave birth to them or not; you are the real MVP.
